More Little Dresses, All in a Row

Still turning out little dresses around here.  I'm enjoying these little ivory dresses, but I think they need a little color or bling or something.  So.... still pondering how to finish them.

I have come up with an idea of what to do with them when they are done.  Stay tuned and I'll keep you posted.

Hope you're having fun with your stitching!   :)

  1. O-h-h-h-h-h-h . . . .how about adding a little colored french knot to one or two of the wastes. They could be in metallic thread to add some bling. I just LOVE THEM! What a wonder idea to make for a bride with a bridal dress and bridesmaids dresses. I would have LOVED one.

  2. Hi Paula!
Thanks so much for your sweet comments and your good ideas!
I haven't done a specific post on how to make the dresses. Basically, I stitch the bodice (each time it seems like I do it differently, but usually it's a combo of satin stitch and lots of French knots). Then I hand sew a little skirt of some kind and attach it by hand to the bodice part.
I guess I'll need to work on a more detailed tutorial! :)

  3. Alison,

Thanks for the info. Being all thumbs when it comes to basic sewing, I'll wait until you write it out . .I hate to measure wrong the 1st time and have a funky looking dress.
